The sustainability challenge
In 1987 the Brundtland Report, also known as Our Common Future, alerted the world to the urgency of making progress toward economic development that could be sustained without depleting natural resources or harming the environment.
Published by an international group of politicians, civil servants and experts on the environment and development, the report provided a key statement on sustainable development, defining it as:
Meeting the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.
For a business, this means considering environmental and social issues alongside economic demands when making decisions. It concerns the triple bottom line of planet, people, and profit.
Here you will find some helpful advice how you as a business, and also as an individual at home, can make a difference in the way you live and work. You never know, it may even save you some money along the way!
